Synod
Synod reads a period of journal entries through separate agents for the values found in them, then brings their disagreements back into the vault as a bulletin.
Independent plugin design and development. TypeScript, Obsidian and configurable language-model backends.
I built Synod around a journal being read from several positions at once, with each agent holding one value and the compiler looking at where their readings pulled in different directions, with each reading kept separate until the compiler had the different reports available to compare against each other.
The plugin imports entries from folders or supported journal exports, extracts candidate values and lets those values guide the analysis, with the resulting bulletin written back into the vault.
Ollama is the default backend, though the settings also support compatible remote endpoints, so where the journal text goes depends on the connection the user chooses for the plugin.
The catalogue date follows the first preserved release on 14 May 2026.
Outcome
A released Obsidian plugin with importers, value discovery and a bulletin pipeline. It offers competing readings of journal entries without presenting them as clinical advice.
