These terms apply when you use hamishburke.dev. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About this site

This is the personal website and portfolio of Hamish Burke. It provides articles, project information, reports, tools, and general information about my work. Nothing on the site is professional, legal, financial, or security advice, and no client or professional relationship is created by your use of it.

Permitted use

You may browse and link to the site for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • interfere with the site’s operation or security;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
  • use automated requests in a way that unreasonably burdens the site; or
  • use the site or its content to break the law or infringe another person’s rights.

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the site and its original content are owned by me and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may quote short excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the source. Any third-party names, trademarks, code, or content remain the property of their respective owners and may have their own licence terms.

External links and services

The site links to third-party websites and services that I do not control. A link is not an endorsement, and I am not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

Availability and disclaimers

I try to keep the site useful and accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, I make no guarantees that the site will always be available, error-free, complete, or current. You use any articles, code, downloads, tools, and examples at your own risk.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the site.

Changes and governing law

I may update these terms as the site changes. The date above shows the latest revision. These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
