Birthday Gallery
I made a birthday gallery for my dad, arranging photographs inside a small 3D space that you can move through in the browser.
Independent design and development. Three.js, gallery models and photograph placement.
I made this around family photographs, and the gallery gave them a place in a small modelled space, with a card and captions that could be seen as the camera moved between the artworks, with the photograph positions and camera destinations held together so each move arrived at the next work.
Three.js handled the scene and loaded the gallery models, while the application positioned the photographs and gave the viewer previous and next controls for moving through them.
I kept the navigation tied to the works themselves, as the point was to move from one photograph to the next without needing to learn how to steer around the room.
The catalogue date follows the first preserved commit on 4 May 2024.
Outcome
A browser-based 3D birthday gallery with custom models and guided camera movement. The public cover illustrates the gallery structure without exposing the family photographs.
