# Watzon

Watzon brought Echo VR league information into Discord, where the OCE community could ask for team details and rankings without opening another site.

Independent development. Java, JDA and the VR Master League API.

I made Watzon around the Echo VR community, and the interesting part was getting the league's teams, players and matches into a form that made sense inside a Discord conversation, with the command response carrying enough of the team context to be useful inside the server itself.

The bot used JDA for Discord interactions and separate Java objects for league data, with commands that assembled team information and rankings into embeds, and server handling for things like captain roles.

There were earlier packaged versions in WatzonOld, though I treat those as part of the same project, as they follow the same community and the same API integration.

The catalogue date follows the first preserved commit on 29 June 2022.

## Outcome

A domain-specific Discord bot with implemented league commands and team displays. The preserved source also includes the earlier packaged versions of the project.
