# L-system Generator

I made a small L-system editor that turns rewriting rules into branching structures, with an OBJ export so the result can move from JavaFX into Blender.

Independent development. JavaFX, turtle geometry and OBJ export.

Playing with L-systems meant starting with a short string and watching what repeated rewriting would produce, and I put that process into a JavaFX app with controls for the rules, iteration count and angle, with the generated string kept separate from the turtle that turned its instructions into geometry.

The geometry came from a turtle interpreting the generated string, with edges recorded as it moved through the structure and an exporter turning that result into an OBJ file.

I added save and load for the systems themselves, so a useful set of rules could be kept alongside the exported geometry and brought back for another iteration.

The catalogue date follows the first preserved commit on 20 May 2023.

## Outcome

A procedural editor with saved systems and Blender-compatible exports. The preserved examples show the generated structure and the geometry taken into Blender.
