# Boids Simulation

This graphics assignment explored flocking through individual movement rules, with boids moving through a shared space and responding to neighbours and obstacles.

University coursework. Boid behaviour and scene work within a supplied graphics framework.

I worked on the force calculation and update steps for the boids, and the movement came from those individual rules being applied across the group as the scene advanced, with obstacles held in the same scene so their effect could be included in those movement updates.

The project held boids, obstacles and scene handling in separate components, with controls for the simulation and several example models so the resulting motion could be inspected from the graphics interface.

The saved images show a large flock inside a bounded volume with obstacles, which is also where the local behaviour becomes easier to see as patterns across the whole group.

The catalogue date follows the first preserved commit on 12 May 2024.

## Outcome

An interactive coursework simulation with preserved source and example screenshots. The cover shows the original scene and its controls.
