Bedroom Layout Designer is a deliberately simple, open-source tool I made while moving flats and planning a new bedroom. I needed a quick way to work out whether different layouts would actually fit in a real space.
The tool lets you define room dimensions, add doors and windows, and move a small set of basic furniture around to reason about clearances and trade-offs. It focuses on physical constraints rather than appearance.
Most existing tools lean heavily into interior styling or grow into full planning suites. This project intentionally doesn’t. It’s not about designing a beautiful room, but about answering a practical question quickly: does this layout work?
The code is fully open-source, with no ads or premium features, and is designed to stay small, focused, and easy to understand.
